Once you get the work permit you need to stay on that status for four years and then you are eligible to apply for permanent residence. Sweden is a member of Schengen states so you can travel in all Schengen countries on Swedish visa.

Eligibility Criteria:

The requirements of study in Sweden are very simple and easy, Grades requirement for the universities are overall 60% marks in your 12th & 14th year education in order to be eligible for the admission but the higher your grades are the higher your chances of getting admission in their bachelor program will be. You can study in Sweden without IELTS but to be on the safe side you need to have 6.5 bands in IELTS to show your language proficiency and fulfill eligibility criteria. Some university also consider individual subject scores so you need to make sure that you read the subject requirement on university’s website.

As for the master program a minimum CGPA of 2.0 or 60% marks are required in most universities to be considered for their master program. Some Universities have specific requirement of your previous research proposal or your previous project report to find out the conceptual knowledge and your grip on the basic concepts of the studies you wish to study in their university. You need to have 6.5 bands in IELTS to show your language proficiency and fulfill eligibility criteria and there some exceptions in the language requirement and for that you need to contact your desired university. Some universities conducts an Entrance Interview with the student to find out the course knowledge, language proficiency, student’s motivation and Intentions and their future goals. Once they find your performance satisfactory and your academic performance on par they will grant you admission and then you can proceed with your visa application process.

Application Procedure:

The application procedure is pretty simple and quick, you just need to visit the university’s website in which you want to get admission and read about the documents requirement like educational documents, statement of purpose, passport, recommendation letters etc. and then create an account of university admissions portal and after putting your study in Sweden login you can select your universities in which you want to apply, if you are applying in bachelors then you can select up to 8 universities and if you are applying in Masters then you can select up to 4 options on the portal. Once you select the Universities then you need to upload the verified copies of your documents on that portal and you also need to dispatch the verified photocopies of your documents to Swedish education council. But before you dispatch the documents you also need to pay the application fee of 900SEK, you can pay your application fee via debit or credit card. Once you send in the documents you have to wait for 2 months then university will send you an email regarding next procedure, whether they want to conduct an entrance interview. You need to follow that procedure and if everything went well you will get your admission. Once you get the admission letter and tuition fee invoice, then you need to pay your first fee deposit, which you can do via bank transfer, credit card and debit card or from Currency Exchange Companies. After receiving your tuition fee, the university will send you a confirmation fee and then you will be eligible to apply for the residence permit for study.

Visa Application Procedure:

If you belong to outside EU/EEA then you need to apply for the residence permit, its requirements and complications may from country to country but one thing is certain that if your profile is strong and your application is complete having all the necessary documents with necessary details then your chances of getting visa are very high. It is a little tricky process so you need to do it very carefully as all your success is dependent on this step. Visa application procedure starts from preparing the required documents in the desired manner, list of the documents are mentioned below:

1. Admission letter

2. Passport

3. Bank statement

4. Marriage certificate (in case you are applying with spouse)

5. Birth Certificate (in case you are applying with baby)

6. Passport of the dependents applying you.
